11 Animated Movies Where Creators Had a Little Slip-up

There are animated films that remain deep in our hearts. Either because we wore out the VHS to watch them over and over again as children, or because we are aware of the new releases and watch them with a more adult perspective. However, the work that animators do to bring us these movies is so exhaustive that they often miss certain details that only very observant eyes can identify.

Bright Side will show you some small mistakes in great animated movies that you might not have noticed.

1. Aladdin

Aladdin was one of the biggest hits of Disney’s golden age in the 1990s. And even if you’ve seen this film countless times, you may not have noticed the small mistake in the moment of the first meeting between Jasmine and Aladdin.

This occurs when the princess jumps from one building to another. When she makes the leap, we see her hair down, and when the focus returns to her, she is once again hooded.

2. The Lion King

Many of us have seen The Lion King more than once. However, few of us have noticed that, during the song I Just Can’t Wait to Be a King, when Simba and Nala start to tease and make faces at Zazu, Zazu’s paws go right into the water. However, in the next shot, she has them resting firmly on the ground.

3. Beauty and the Beast

Beauty and the Beast was so successful that it was even the first animated film to be nominated for an Oscar for Best Picture. During its opening number, Bonjour, the book that Belle brings to the bookstore, changes from red to purple when she enters the place to return it.

4. Shrek

During the famous introduction scene of our beloved protagonist in Shrek, when the sign that says “Beware Ogre” is shown, from behind we can see that it is missing a bit of wood on the left corner. However, when we see it from the front, the broken corner is on the other side.

5. Despicable Me

In the opening minutes of the tender story of Despicable Me, when the 3 girls return to the orphanage after failing in the first attempt to be adopted by Gru, the duct tape mark on the floor is a fairly safe distance from the desk. However, when the shot zooms in on the sisters’ perspective, it looks much closer than it was before.

6. Toy Story 3

Toy Story 3 is one of the great jewels of Pixar’s filmography, and a practically perfect ending to the trilogy (although it later added one more installment). At one point in the film, when the toys are taken to the nursery, the box in which they are found has text on the side, which disappears once it is put in the children’s room.

7. Sleeping Beauty

One of the most remembered scenes of the Disney classic, Sleeping Beauty, is when Aurora is caught in the spell of the evil Maleficent when she puts her finger on the spindle of the spinning wheel, and falls asleep. At this moment, there is a continuity error since before falling, the princess is wearing a completely smooth crown. However, it appears covered with jewels seconds later.

8. Moana

Moana is one of the greatest hits of Disney’s modern era. One of its small continuity errors can be seen before and during its title song, How Far I’ll Go. Before she starts singing, Moana throws some splinters that get stuck in the sand, and when she starts the song, they disappear.

9. Finding Nemo

In one of the most tense moments of the Finding Nemo voyage, the dentist puts the little fish in a bag to give to his niece, Darla, first in a Ziploc. However, when we see Nemo out of the fish tank, he is in a regular bag.

10. Frozen

The song Let It Go signifies a turning point, both for the film and for Elsa’s character in Frozen. But the moment is so powerful that we overlooked a small mistake. When the princess lets her hair down in her reveal, she pulls her braid from back to front, to the other side, but without it going over her shoulder.

11. Lilo & Stitch

Lilo and Stitch signified one of the strongest entries of the new millennium for Disney. The relationship between the alien-turned-puppy and little Lilo is so tender that it can distract from the small continuity error that occurs when Stitch devours a piece of cake from a plate, which in the next scene disappears.

Do you think these mistakes can be overlooked, or are they important for the films?
