It’s possible that at some point in your life you have wondered whether or not you should follow the same career path as your parents or siblings. Well, this also happens to celebrities. After all, they can closely follow in the footsteps of their parents or loved ones and then decide if this is really the profession they want to pursue in the future.

Bright Side chose some artists who were lucky enough to work with a member of their family. Take a look for yourself.

1. Will Smith and Jaden Smith in The Pursuit of Happyness

The film, The Pursuit of Happyness, marked Jaden Smith’s official feature film debut, starring alongside his father, Will Smith. The film tells the biographical story of Chris Gardner, and was so successful that the father-son partnership continued in another film, After Earth. Some fans also noted that Jaden made a special appearance in 2002’s Men in Black II.

2. Meryl Streep and Mamie Gummer in Ricki and the Flash

They were also mother and daughter on the big screen. But not everyone knows that Meryl Streep is actually the mother of actress Mamie Gummer. In addition to Ricki and the Flash, they also acted together in other productions, like Heartburn and Evening.

3. Marlon Wayans and Shawn Wayans in Little Man, and Damon Wayans and Damon Wayans Jr. in My Wife and Kids

You may have already recognized these faces from other productions, such as White Chicks. With these 2, you’re guaranteed to laugh. But the Wayans brothers not only appeared in a movie together, but they also produced several films together, including Scary Movie.

My Wife and Kids was very successful in the 2000s. And what perhaps few people know is that Damon Wayans’ son, Damon Wayans Jr., was also in the series. However, he was not the character played by George O. Gore II, but rather, one of his best friends. Damon Wayans Jr. appeared in 8 episodes, playing the role of John. The father and son returned to act together in the series, Happy Together, in 2018.

4. Elizabeth Olsen and her sisters, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, in some productions

Her last name says it all. Younger sister of the Olsen twins, Elizabeth rose to fame as an adult. She began her career in the ’90s, at the age of 4, alongside her older sisters, Mary-Kate and Ashley in the short film, The Adventures of Mary-Kate & Ashley: The Case of Thorn Mansion, and later in the film, Wild West Confusion. In addition, it was quite common to see her in several of her sisters’ productions.

5. Dave and James Franco in The Disaster Artist

Both men are famous and have starred in successful productions. However, it took a while for the brothers to work together because Dave avoided working with James at the beginning of his career to avoid being compared and to be able to achieve stardom on his own merits. Back in 2017, they starred in The Disaster Artist, directed by James. We hope to see the 2 reunited in more productions.

6. Hilary Duff and Haylie Duff in Material Girls

Although Hilary Duff is better known worldwide, her older sister, Haylie, is also an actress. They both starred in the movie, Material Girls, playing 2 millionaires who are forced to face reality in order to save their family business. Outside of this film, Haylie had already acted alongside her sister in some episodes of Lizzie McGuire.

7. Dakota and Elle Fanning in I Am Sam

You probably already know that Dakota and Elle Fanning are sisters. Both incredibly talented, their performances have captivated audiences from a very young age. They both played the same character in the movie, I Am Sam, alongside actor Sean Penn. After so long without sharing the big screen, the Fanning sisters will appear together in a big production, The Nightingale.

8. Spencer and Abigail Breslin in Raising Helen

Here’s another sibling duo for our list. While Spencer Breslin became famous for acting in children’s movies, like The Cat and The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause, his younger sister, Abigail, participated in different successful productions. However, the Little Miss Sunshine star once acted alongside her brother in the filming of Educating Helen, which also featured Kate Hudson’s nephews.

9. Andrew, Joey, and Matthew Lawrence in Jumping Ship

The Lawrence brothers were very successful in the 1990s. Joey, the eldest, became famous thanks to the series, Blossom. Matthew starred in Mrs. Doubtfire and The Psycho She Met. Together with his younger brother, Andrew, they starred in some productions, such as the series, Brotherly Love, and the movie, Jumping Ship. However, these were not the only works carried out as a family: Matthew and Andrew also made some appearances in Blossom, alongside the firstborn of the family.

10. Macaulay and Kieran Culkin in Home Alone

When we talk about Home Alone, the first person that comes to mind is Macaulay Culkin, right? That blonde kid who got into trouble at Christmas after his whole family took off and left him behind. Among the kid’s many cousins, however, was Macaulay’s own younger brother, Kieran Culkin. He was the kid with the round glasses that we saw drinking soda in one of the family scenes.
